Reimbursement
The IMS method can also serve as psychosomatic movement therapy and as such recognized as an alternative therapy or complementary care by Dutch care insurers. Therefore, you may be eligible for reimbursement of one or more sessions per year, depending on supplementary health insurance coverage.
Because I am also psychosomatic movement therapist (healthcare professional) registered by recognized professional organizations such as the Nederlandse Fedratie Gezondheidszorg (Dutch Federation of Healthcare Professionals – NFG – member number: 8667) and the Register Beroepsbeoefenaren Complementaire Zorg (Register of Complementary Care Professionals – RBCZ – license number: 180146R), chances are, your supplementary insurance covers your IMS sessions.

Reimbursements of complementary psychosocial assistance (which includes the IMS method) may be covered by the supplementary insurance as alternative care or alternative exercise care. Carefully read the (additional) policy of your health insurer.
In addition, you can check with your local municipality whether you qualify for a reimbursement from the WMO or PGB (personal budget) and/or any benefits agencies such as the UWV (for example, for a reimbursement from the Bijstandswet) or your employer.
